The Buildings and Energy Action Team has been working behind the scenes to support a local organization in its effort to implement a facilities solarization project. We expect an announcement to come soon!
We also had conversations this year around the many technologies and conservation options available to us all today. We explored pros and cons and discussed how we move forward through the unknowns and to-be-determined’s. We committed ourselves to learning more, particularly in regard to the touchpoint between energy solutions and circular and just economies. We sometimes found that our individual levels of trust or faith in the larger system to resolve these issues in due time affected each of our individual readiness to make a recommendation for action as of yet. An anchor in the conversation remained steadily knowing and trusting that one another’s commitment is to the mission and vision of this organization – the areas of discussion are how we get there, not where to go.
We are excited to be closing out the year by beginning to plan our participation in the Oregon Garden Earth Day event in April 2026. As we approach the day, the Building and Energy Action Team will be carefully considering the best and highest value information and resources that we can provide our community.
